Drunk driving puts people in danger and can threaten the lives of those who are driving while intoxicated. It is important that people understand how drunk driving can affect them and others. It is unfair to put others’ lives at risk just for a few drinks.
Unfortunately, there have been a few drunk driving incidents in Dallas lately. In one, a 28-year-old man was arrested after he was involved in a chain-reaction collision that resulted in the death of one person and injuries to another.
In that case, a previous crash was reported by a woman who came upon a collision on 11800 N. Central Expressway’s Coit Road exit. As she was slowing down to avoid it, a driver behind her failed to slow down. His vehicle collided with hers, forcing her across several lanes of the freeway. She and the other party got out of their vehicles to exchange information, but then she was hit by a 27-year-old woman while she stood outside her driver’s side door.
Interestingly, it was the driver who hit her from behind who was accused of driving while intoxicated. He was placed under arrest for DWI, while the 27-year-old woman who hit the older woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Incidents like this are devastating for everyone involved. If you are involved in a drunk driving collision and suffer an injury, remember that you can seek compensation from the responsible party and hold them accountable for their actions. The cost of treating your injuries should not fall on your shoulders, especially in situations where the other party has done something that is against the law.
